About the Photographer
Maggie Kimmitt has been involved with horses since early childhood as an owner, Combined Training competitor, and now as an enthusiastic equine photographer. Her passion for Thoroughbred racing has taken her to major racetracks all along the Eastern seaboard - Saratoga, Belmont, Aqueduct, Monmouth, Colonial Downs, Keeneland, Gulfstream Park, Philadelphia Park, Delaware Park - where she has photographed some of the country's premier stakes races. Her photography has been published by Mid-Atlantic Thoroughbred and Trainer magazines, as well as Steeplechase Times. Her work has also been exhibited at the National Museum of Racing in Saratoga Springs, New York. Maggie is also a staff writer for Mid-Atlantic Thoroughbred and pens a monthly column called "Pensioners on Parade" which chronicles the lives of retired race horses.
